Personal Statement
One of my favorite quotes is “Everything you've ever wanted is on the other side of fear,” by George Addair. I think this quote sums up my determination to be a successful student athlete on and off the field because you can accomplish anything you dream of with courage and hard work. I started playing sports at the age of 4, including softball, soccer, and basketball. In order to succeed, I have had to put in the work at practice, respect my coaches and opponents, and try to be a student of the mental and physical game. I am one of the first players to arrive and one of the last to leave the field. I support my team by being a versatile player who is willing to go wherever the need is. In the dugout I try to be there for my teammates by keeping things positive and fun. Though it can be challenging at times, traveling long distances to play has been an adventure. It has taught me to be independent and responsible. All of these skills are equally important in the classroom. My hope is to maintain a high GPA with the goal of attending college and majoring in the field of biomedical sciences. I would like to earn a graduate degree as well. As I grow in the sport, I am now learning the importance of giving back to the community by volunteering with the rec ball program that I attended. It is very rewarding to help coach the younger players and be part of their softball journey. I’m looking forward to seeing where the future takes me.
