Alysha Wagner '22 Recruiting Profile

I have been a two sport athlete for as long as I can remember. I started playing soccer when I was four years old and softball when I was five. I've tried a few other sports, but I couldn't shake the feeling of running after a ball and actually making that diving catch or game winning goal. I've always been very fortunate in having coaches that not only support my dual sport lifestyle, but they additionally focused on improving my weaknesses and pushing me to reach my full potential. I've been described by teammates and coaches as cheerful, uplifting, coachable, and "fearless". During my freshman year, I received the MVP on my JV soccer team, and on varsity softball, I received outstanding rookie award and most "inspirational" in which I was very honored. As a sophomore, I increased my standings to a varsity soccer goal keeper, and led the varsity softball team as a co-captain. Now as a Junior, I was elected to be co-captain for a second year and I couldn't be happier to be back on the field with my high school teammates that I haven't seen in over a year due to Covid. 

Academically, I believe school is a top priority which is why I have challenged myself with 3 AP classes this year while still being in the top portion of my class at Corona High, holding a 4.6 GPA. For all 3 years, I have been apart of my school's Bio-medical STEM program where the positive atmosphere has continuously motivated me to go to school even when times are rough. I love the hands on and collaborative learning styles this program provides, and I have most definitely made life long friends. I highly enjoy my classes, and in the future, I envision myself studying biology or within the medical field.
