Personal Statement

Hi, my name is Chase Redington. I am 5'8" 155 lbs and currently play for So Cal Fillys with Pat Kelly on their 18u Gold. My freshman year I was starting varsity pitcher and made second team All-County for Broward and Miami-Dade counties. Also, I was named team MVP last year and was given a Scholar-Athlete Award by my school. It is weird to mention that stuff because really I just love to play! I am a devoted athlete and will play anywhere you put me. I have been playing ball since I was 4. My mom and sister played; and when you are born in California and growing up on the west coast, I guess you are just born to play! I can play anywhere and was actually a starting short-stop up until a couple of years ago. I have been primarily the starting pitcher for the past 3 years and my secondary position is now first base. Having to take on the role of starting varsity pitcher has really given me an opportunity to develop as a team leader. I hope to carry that on to college and really just want to play in college. I miss my family out west but I also love anywhere there are lots of trees and seasons. Since our move to South Florida, my parents have suffered financially. I know that I have to excel both in the classroom and on the field. I love a challenge! I am still interested in Kinesiology or some kind of sports science for my bachelors. I am considering a graduate degree in Sports Medicine, Literature, or Athletic Training. I would love to coach some day. So, I do really want to have a pitching coach at the school I attend. I want to get stronger and develop my pitching skills so I can teach others and hopefully give them what softball and pitching has given me; confidence in myself, team work, helping others and being a leader.

NCSA COLLEGE RECRUITING®

NCSA College Recruiting® (NCSA) is the nation’s leading collegiate recruiting source for more than 500,000 student-athletes and 42,000 college coaches. By taking advantage of this extensive network, more than 92 percent of NCSA verified athletes play at the college level. The network is available to high school student-athletes around the country through valued relationships with the NFLPA, FBU, NFCA and SPIRE. Each year, NCSA educates over 4 million athletes and their parents about the recruiting process through resources on its website, presentations of the critically-acclaimed seminar College Recruiting Simplified, and with Athletes Wanted, the book written by NCSA founder Chris Krause.
