I started playing baseball when I was in sixth grade and then switched over to softball in freshman year, and I have been playing on my high school's varsity team as a starting shortstop since freshman year. I expanded my positions to first base and catcher in junior year. I am also an experienced outfielder and consistently practice outfielding. This year, I am proud and excited to be the team captain. I also started playing travel ball in freshman year, starting with the Fremont Flyers (18U) and the Vipers (18U). I became captain of both teams in junior year. Then I joined my current team, Don Ford's Strike Zone (18 Gold) for the summer/fall before my senior year and play outfield. This team taught me how to master hitting in specific directions, to give up my body for the play, and to always put in every last bit of effort, no matter what we were doing.
As for academics, I go to Mission San Jose High School, a very competitive and academically-focused school, and was able to maintain a 3.78 GPA and take seven weighted classes in my entire high school career. In college, I hope to get a psychology degree so that I can become a clinical psychologist and help treat people with psychological disorders and make an impact on one person at time. At the same time, I would love to be able to continue my passion of playing softball competitively.
