My name is Eva Karolczak, and I am a Senior at Mountain View High School in Mountain View, California (Class of 2018). I play SS for my Nova Fusion travel team and 2B & 1B for my high school team. Have also played outfield occasionally. Academically, I have a 4.0 unweighted / 4.67 weighted GPA and single-sitting test scores of 35 on ACT, 1510 on new SAT and 1520 on PSAT. I recently qualified as a National Merit Finalist and am a SF Bay Area Finalist for the Positive Coaching Alliance Triple Impact Competitor Scholarship. I am hoping to attend a very high academic liberal arts college, but I have been playing (and adoring) softball since I was 5 years old and really want to continue playing softball in college as well. My travel ball team, Nova Fusion 16A, placed 3rd at USA Softball Western Nationals in Lake Elsinore, CA, 1st at USA Softball NorCal Championships in Hayward, 5th at the Triple Crown 16A World Series in San Diego and 4th at the USSSA 18U Open tourney in Sacramento, CA. My high school has a very strong softball program and I have been lucky enough to win league each year I have been there. I have been on Varsity since sophomore year, when I played second base. I was awarded 2nd team all-league and also the Scholar Athlete award the past two seasons on Varsity and MaxPreps Player of the Year plus Scholar Athlete my freshman year. I would love the experience of participating and playing for a college softball team. Some potential majors and/or minors might include neuroscience, psychology, or pre-med, accompanied by Spanish language and studio art. Thank you!

The team pounded 6 home runs and 5 triples in 5 games and shut-out the opponent in the championship game with a no-hitter. Nova Fusion 14A are Gold Division Champions at the Monster Mash Tournament in San Jose (Oct 25 - 26, 2014) prevailing over a tough field of 19 teams in the 15U Open Division of this USSSA tourney! This follows a 3rd place finish at the USSSA 15U Pink Panther Tournament in Suisun City during the weekend of October 11-12, 2014.

- Nova Fusion 14A Herrera just returned from a great trip to the Western Nationals in Boise, ID. The team went 5 - 2 and made it to the 'Elite Eight', ultimately placing 7th overall out of 34 teams - the highest of any of the California teams. Nova Fusion beat the team that came in 4th and their two losses were both by 1 run, one to the team that came in 2nd and another in international tie-breaker to the team that came in 5th.
