Personal Statement
Since I was a little girl I've grown up playing sports, but softball has always been the main one. Playing sports has help me build character in so many ways. It has helped me manage my responsibilities on and off the field. For example, if I did not finish my homework or projects before practice i could not go and not going for me broke my heart, not because I could not go but because I wasn't there to get better and help my team. Keeping good grades and playing sports is easy when you enjoy what your doing. Having to participate in team sports makes one understand how important team work is.
My goal for college has always been to get a major in the field of child development and psychology. However, I wanted to help young children to fell safe and secure, to have them know that there is always someone who they can talk to. As the years went on I started looking into a degree and a career that could help me do what I've always wanted to do, I came to the conclusion of reaching a degree in psychology and becoming a child life specialist. As a result having a job like this will encourage me to use the communication and teamwork skills I have learned through playing.
