Personal Statement
My personal motto is " to play with purpose." I am thankful for the opportunity to play softball. I have worked hard to become a strong team player as well as a leader. I strive to have the best skills possible to succeed for my team. I know what it takes to be a success and challenge myself daily to be the best student, athlete, friend, sister and person I can.
On the field, I am the first to arrive and last to leave. I always bring my best effort and ability to listen, learn and improve. I strive to be the kind of player that my coaches and teammates can depend on. I have worked hard for every moment I play. I will continue with the same hard working attitude in college.
My dream is to be able to one day play at the college level at a university that helps me grow as a person and achieve my academic goals to become a Special Education Teacher or Child Life Specialist.
Currently, I am the founder of the Zoe to Zoe Helping Hands Project. Established in 2012, I have used my softball for greater good and have created a project that encourages athletic teams as well as individuals to play with purpose and give back in their communities. Please visit my Facebook page, Zoe to Zoe Helping Hands Project for more information.
I am also the 1st recipient of the yearly award given at USA Preps Nationals. It is the "Zoe Ballen Scholarship Award" given in my name for my philanthropy work in and out of the sport of softball. I am so honored to this day and continue to do work to help others.
"The Dream is free. The Hustle is sold separately"
