Personal Statement

I started playing softball when I was 8 years old and have always dreamed of one day making it to the collegiate level. Now that I am older, I still have the same dream. I went to Basalt High School in the small mountain town of Basalt, CO for thee years of my high school career and will be transferring for my senior year to play at Chaparral High School in Parker, CO. It is a change I am excited for because of the opportunities I will have both academically and athletically. I have always kept school above sports, and will continue to do so after high school. When I go to college I hope to continue my education and learn skills that will enable me to find the right career. I hope to pursue a degree in History and continue on to pursue a Law degree to become a lawyer. When I started playing softball I mainly played first base, because I was left-handed. When I reached high school my coaches started to talk about being able to play more than one position. That's when I started to play both catcher and outfield. I also learned how to slap to create better opportunities for our team on offense and increase my options as a hitter. I will be a Senior this upcoming year and will have played three different positions on my Varsity high school team. I never really thought I would be able to play at the college level until my travel team, Colorado Korruption, coach asked me if I had considered playing in college. He saw potential in me, and that really sparked my life long dream of becoming a college athlete.

NCSA COLLEGE RECRUITING®

NCSA College Recruiting® (NCSA) is the nation’s leading collegiate recruiting source for more than 500,000 student-athletes and 42,000 college coaches. By taking advantage of this extensive network, more than 92 percent of NCSA verified athletes play at the college level. The network is available to high school student-athletes around the country through valued relationships with the NFLPA, FBU, NFCA and SPIRE. Each year, NCSA educates over 4 million athletes and their parents about the recruiting process through resources on its website, presentations of the critically-acclaimed seminar College Recruiting Simplified, and with Athletes Wanted, the book written by NCSA founder Chris Krause.
