How I started softball may be different than others, yet I continue to strive so I can become a better player. During basketball season, a teammate of mine played softball and her dad was the head coach. When the game was finished, my softball coach recruited me to play softball and train with them during winter. Ever since then, I have loved the game, going out every day to practice. My dad has incredibly influenced me to play the game because he played in college, and my coach has also influenced me because he saw potential in me I never knew. When I play softball, I have found out that not only am I a positive leader, but I also go out and support my teammates, helping them get up after an error made. When I go out on the field, it feels like I can let go of all of my worries and just focus on the most important subject: softball. A few obstacles I had to overcome while playing would be fighting for a position on the varsity team. My academic goal for high school and college would be to not procrastinate, always do my best, do better in anything I’m doing, and also retaining information through the courses. Some unique skills that I acquire would be a backhand catch, diving after the ball if it’s in my area, my leadership skills, and always putting in effort.
