Personal Statement
Recommendation from Kim Norman, Choate Rosemary Hall Head Coach : Stephanie's love of the game and commitment to her sport are unparalleled. Stephanie works tirelessly in the offseason to perfect her skills and she puts as much effort into practices as she does into games. She is a tenacious player on the field – 100% focused at all times and always willing to sacrifice her body to make the play. Her range is impressive and frequently she fields balls and makes plays that initially seem out of reach. Stephanie is also a very smart softball player! She is observant and has amazing recall of players' previous at bats. She can read a player's stance, swing and mechanics and adjust accordingly to position herself in the best possible spot to field the ball. She knows the game extremely well and is always thinking ahead of the next pitch so that she can react immediately to the situation that presents itself. Stephanie is a smart and confident base runner. Her speed combined with her knowledge of the game, help her to pick up extra bases and create opportunities for additional offense. During summer ball Stephanie plays second and outfield. For Choate this past season she played a little shortstop before moving to catcher to help our team. Stephanie enthusiastically played whichever position we needed her to because she truly cares about her team's success over her own accomplishments. Stephanie batted .500 this season with 31 hits in 62 at bats. She picked up six doubles, 4 triples and a home run. Stephanie received our honorable mention for MVP this year and she was named to the Western New England Softball All-Star Team.
Personality
Stephanie is a talented, passionate, and dedicated player who will do anything and everything that is asked of her! She is an absolute joy to coach. She is well respected by her teammates and they admire her drive and determination. In addition, Stephanie is a very good student with a challenging academic schedule. She is a three sport athlete, but softball is without a doubt her love. Stephanie is one of a kind and a great addition to any team!

Her hustle is unmatched and often results in making a positive play out of nothing. She is exceptionally versatile with the ability to play for the best Div I schools. She plays all positions save pitching. Good speed and exceptional quickness are accompanied by an uncanny sixth sense to read a play and anticipate the result. She hits for average and power with a high QAB ratio. Her defensive skills and aggression puts her play in a league of her own. She produces spectacular results in so many otherwise routine situations. Stephanie's hustle, attitude and ability separate her from all the girls I've coached over many years. In 40+ years I've never written a recommendation like this.
Personality
Stephanie has great attitude, hustle and is extremely coachable. She is a great kid who loves softball and her enthusiasm and positive attitude infect the whole team. She does not get down and will never stop trying. She is the first player on the field and the first to pitch in and help where help is needed.

She is capable of playing multiple positions including 2B, 1B, C and OF, and is willing to do whatever is needed to help her team. Whatever position we put her in, we are confident she will do an excellent job. Offensively, she has a very fundamentally sound swing and hits both for average and power.
Personality
What separates Stephanie from many players is her level of effort. Without a doubt, Stephanie gives 100% effort, 100% of the time, be it at practice, game or in the classroom. Her effort and enthusiasm is contagious with her teammates, and she has a way of elevating everyone's effort level. Steph is a good natured kid with a great sense of humor and is fun to be around. It is an honor and a pleasure to coach her.
