Alyssa Hancock '12 Recruiting Profile

My name is Alyssa Hancock and I have played on the varsity team all four years of high school. I am 5'4" and 125 pounds. Although I am generally small I can cover a large portion of the field. In field has been my passion ever since I was 8. I had accomplishments for myself throughout my high school career. I have received honorable mention my freshman and sophomore year. I made All Area my sophomore and junior year. I also made the Junior select All-Star team my junior year. I have great leadership skills. I am the captain of my basketball team and my softball team. Being a captain has taught me how to interact with people in the right manner. It also taught me how to become open to problems. Doing sports in general has helped me with my time management. I want to go to school somewhere that is close to home. I do not want to go too far away so that it takes a whole day to get home. My family and I are very close so I would not prefer to go too far away. I am looking for a small or medium sized school because I tend to learn better in a small area with less people. I like more one on one contact with professors. I want to study psychology when I go to college because I really enjoy talking and helping people through hard times. My goals for college softball are to get on a team with good chemistry and greets me with open arms. I also look for a team that I would either be able to play my freshman year or sit freshman year so that I am ready for sophomore year. I believe that I am a very coachable athlete. One thing I have going for me is that I have a lot of passion when I play and I give it my all every time I step on the field.
