Dani Brandt '16 Recruiting Profile

   My aspiration in life is to be successful. In high school, the idea of this is simple; one must get good grades, be involved in extracurricular activities, and have an outstanding number of community service hours. Technically, I am a successful high school student because of my 4.59 GPA, my involvement in softball and National Honor Society, and my 183 community service hours. The reason i said "technically" is because success is viewed differently for every person. Some people might believe that buying a house is a success while other people might see finally getting a partnership in a company successful. For me, being successful would be graduating from college and owning my own coffee shop.
   I believe that i am different than others because of the amount of individual determination that I have. I think that it is necessary to have someone in ones life to help motivate them, but I like to be my own motivator. I am the one who makes myself go out for a run, take hundreds of cuts off of a tee at home, and do my homework. This makes me different than other young girls aspiring to play softball. My autodidactic personality means that i am constantly pushing myself to become better at anything i do. I believe that being self motivated is important in not only an athlete but a student, you want a player who will not only push her limits on the field, but also in her mind. While i might not be the best at some things, like math, i always push myself to work harder in those areas because i do not want to have any weaknesses.
