My name is Laurel Wynn, and I am a senior attending Luella High School in Locust Grove, Ga. I am excited about the next year with my team and my graduation in 2014. I am looking forward to attending a college that will fulfill my educational needs as well as allow me to play softball.
I am dedicated to my studies and my softball career while holding a honors GPA of 3.3. I have been playing softball since the age of 7. I began as a SS and then second base. I began playing the pitching position at the age of 11. There was a need and I wanted to step up and contribute to my team. As a junior attending Luella High School which is a 6A division I enjoyed starting in a more competitive softball league as a slapper, and outfielder where we finished league 6-2-0 and winning our region.
I began to take lessons so that I could begin to perfect my craft. I however, am not the average pitcher. I am a switch hitter, a slapper and great at base running. My batting average is .478 and on base percentage is .586. When on the mound, I strive to keep the offense guessing. I aim to throw strikes or whatever pitch is needed to give our team the best advantage.I also play travel ball with the 16A Georgia Intensity where I contribute as a OF/MIF/RHP.
I have a passion for this game that never waivers. I have and continue to work hard as a student in class and on the field. I continue to build my mind and my body so that I can compete on and off the field. I feel that my strengths as a overall player would make me a great contribution to a solid college team. I am looking forward to having that opportunity.
