Personal Statement
Hi, my name is Kelsey Westmoreland. My parents are Scottie and Melissa Westmoreland. I am a rising Senior at Stephens County High School, graduating class of 2017. I was starting Varsity catcher for our High School Lady Indians as a freshman and sophomore. I also played varsity my Junior year at 2B and Left field. I played starting short stop on Junior Varsity freshman year. I currently play travel ball for the Jack City 99 as primary catcher, and middle infielder. I have played competitive travel ball for the past 8 years. I have also played local community Little League for 6 years, where I have played all stars for all 6 years. Our 2012 team was state runner ups and in 2013 our Jr. League team advanced to Southeast region play offs to represent the state of Georgia. We were again runner up.
I will attend college, and would like to continue my softball career at the collegiate level. As of now my interests are toward psychology, and school counseling. I have not determined what profession I would like to pursue. Academics are just as important as athletics in the college I will attend. I am open to all opportunities. Financial assistance will play a part in the decision making process. I work hard in class and on the field. I am a team player who is willing to do what it takes to get better and succeed.
