Personal Statement

My name is Jayden Benson. I am from Pocatello, Idaho. I am 5'3 135 pounds, and I am going into my Senior year of school, and my third season of starting in center field on Varsity for the 5A Highland Rams. I have been playing softball for 8 years, and I want to pursue this sport at a collegiate level. Right now I play on my Varsity school softball team, as well as a traveling softball team called "Reign." While playing on a traveling softball team I go to different showcases/tournaments. I've attended the USA Preps and took first with the best record, and the Idaho State Tournament which my team and I won.  During my High School Varsity season we took seventh at the 5A Idaho State Championship in 2015 and tied for fifth in 2016. The field of study I would like to go into is Pre-medicine but I have other interests as well. My weighted GPA right now is a 3.95, and my cumulative is a 4.0.  I am in National Honors Society and I am taking honors and AP classes while present in extracurricular activities outside of school throughout the year. I would like to attend a college that offers not only the best academics and classes for my field of interest, but also a softball program. I have dreams of playing anywhere from a D1 school to a D3 college, but I will go to the college that offers me the best academic and sport program. I wish to play at the next level and grow in every aspect while getting the best education possible for me.
