Caroline Casdorph '18 Recruiting Profile

I have played softball since I could remember. Every summer has consisted of early practices during the week and playing 6 or more games every weekend. I have been my travel teams' for the past 8 years and have played 1st and 3rd base for my school team.  I have been captains for most of my club teams as well as my club basketball team.  I am currently a captain for my school team. I know what it takes to be a leader and I work consistently to achieve my goals. Ever since I was little I have dreamed of playing on my high school varsity team as a freshman and go on to play in college anywhere I have the opportunity. I have achieved one of those goals and I work every day to attain my next one.

Along with softball, I have participated in 4H showing steers at various cattle shows as well as my county fair. Through 4H I have learned hard work and responsibility and believe me, training and pulling a 1500 pound animal on a rope is no easy task.

I know that academics come before athletics. I spend extra time in the classroom so I am allowed to spend more time on the field. I take summer classes and study nonstop before a big test or quiz.

I believe I am a good candidate because I will stop at nothing to attain my goal. I will work through blood, sweat and tears to do what I have to do to accomplish my dreams. I have gone through injuries, slumps, and other obstacles, but I never let any of those get in the way of what I am striving to attain. I value integrity, teamwork, and sportsmanship. For these reasons, I believe I am a great fit to your team.
