I aspire to become a pediatrician when I am older. In order to do so I will need to enroll in a pre-med program and eventually a full doctoral degree program. Attending a university and being able to play softball on a scholarship will help me get closer to my dream of one day becoming a pediatrician.
What makes me a good candidate for a collegiate softball team is that I am whole-heartedly dedicated to the sport of softball. I eat, sleep and breathe the game and would be so excited to be able to extend my softball career four more years by playing on a college team. As for my academics, I believe that I excel compared to most people. I have been in accelerated programs and classes since the second grade. I am hardworking and dedicated not only when it comes to softball, but when it comes to my studies as well. My dedication stems from how hard I was pushed in grade school. This is where I learned to take pride in my academic performance. My favorite subjects are science and math which are most peoples’ least favorite subjects. Both of these classes make me realize how much I love to learn but also just how much there is still left to learn in the world.
I guess you could describe my character as outgoing and very down to earth. I can be loud and talkative which comes in handy when communicating on the field, but at the same time I know when to calm down and listen intently to others. Unlike most softball players my age, I have only been playing since I was 11 years old. Of course, at first, I was a little behind the other athletes my age. However; all the extra time I put into practicing my hard work and dedication payed off because not only have I caught up to others I have been able to excel at the sport I love. In my first year playing softball at Conant High School, in Hoffman Estates, Illinois, I was a started on the Junior Varsity along with only three other freshmen. Then in the post season I was pulled up with only one other person to play with varsity where we made it to sectionals.
In total, I believe that I am an extremely dedicated, smart and talented athlete that would love to play college softball to better myself as an athlete and as a person in general.
