Mackenna Mittelstaedt '17 Recruiting Profile

My name is Mackenna Mittelstaedt and I'm a 5'4" right-handed pitcher at Oswego East High School in Oswego, IL. I also play first and third base. In my years of playing travel ball, and now high school, I have enjoyed splitting my on-field time between pitching and playing the corners. I am dedicated to practicing and playing as hard as I can to benefit the team to the best of my ability. I understand the importance of a team playing together as a group of athletes, not individuals playing for their own personal reasons. I want to play for a college team that shares this sense of family and I enjoy using my outgoing personality to help bring a team as close together as possible.

My softball team is my second family - my sisters - and what I can offer to my family is the promise to always work hard and never give up. I believe in having a strong, open relationship with my coaching staff as it adds to my desire to be the best athlete I can be for the team.

I am open-minded in choosing the college I would like attend. While being from the Midwest would make this my initial target area, I am very open to attending any college that best fits my academic and athletic goals. I am interested in majoring in Psychology and aim for a career in Criminal Psychology.

I am looking forward to finding the right college to allow me to continue playing the sport I love, while knowing I will do everything I can to benefit the team, college and community around me.
