Personal Statement

Ever since I started playing softball I have dreamt of playing in college one day. Watching college softball players on TV inspired me to work hard and always give 100% so I could someday be like them. Going into high school my goal was to be on varsity all four years and to play at the collegiate level. As a freshman, I made varsity and saw action in almost every game. Last year, being the only sophomore starter on varsity only increased my determination to play softball at the next level. I have had many coaches throughout my softball career and the consensus has been that I am very coachable. I am always looking to improve my game and welcome the constructive criticism that my coaches provide. I enjoy the sense of teamwork that playing softball offers and enter each game with the mindset that I am playing for the name on the front instead of the name on the back. I believe softball takes more than natural born talent. To set yourself apart from others, it takes the right attitude and giving 110% whether in practice or in the game. I  take part in "No Off Season" training throughout the year and I play and practice year round. I strive to help the team by being a leader through victory and most importantly defeat. When my team is struggling I try to remain positive and build others up to help us recover. Not only is it important to do my best on the field, but off the field as well. My parents instilled in me from a young age the importance of academics. Because of this, I doubled up math and science classes in my first 2 years of high school. As a result, I will have completed 25 credits of college course work by the end of my Junior year. I have been working very hard to be the best student athlete that I can be. I am looking to find the best college for me that will help me grow as a person, both academically and athletically. I hope to create a bond with my coaches and teammates that will last a lifetime.

NCSA COLLEGE RECRUITING®

NCSA College Recruiting® (NCSA) is the nation’s leading collegiate recruiting source for more than 500,000 student-athletes and 42,000 college coaches. By taking advantage of this extensive network, more than 92 percent of NCSA verified athletes play at the college level. The network is available to high school student-athletes around the country through valued relationships with the NFLPA, FBU, NFCA and SPIRE.
