Personal Statement
I am currently a senior at Loyola Academy, in Wilmette IL. My GPA is a 3.4/89%. However, it is my goal to raise that to at least 90% my senior year . I received a 25 on my ACT; my reading sub-test was a 29, which I am very proud of. I am 5'9" and weigh 140 pounds. I will be graduating the spring of 2012. I want to earn a degree in Psychology. I love running and working out. I ran my first marathon, the Chicago Half, Fall of 2010. I came in 35th out of 185 others my age group. I also did the Hot Chocolate 5K. I have played piano all my life, and did AIM (Achievement in Music), a program at Northwestern University, 2008, 2009 and 2010. I was MVP as a catcher my freshman and sophomore year. Varsity year I was asked to play shortstop, a position I had never played. I loved it. I worked hard and had a lot of fun seeing what I'm capable of. I have a strong, accurate arm, I am a team player and I have a good work ethic. I am a versitile player. I can play SS, C, 3rd, 1st and OF. I am working at being more consistent at the bat, currently .412, (OBP-.459, SLG- .705). I am working with a batting coach to improve this area. One of my athletic goals this year is to be on the All Catholic Conference team. I train every day of the week, and I plan to keep working hard to achieve All Catholic Conference. I did not get into the recruiting aspect of softball untill this past August. I believe I can play and make a difference at the DII level. I just recently began the search for a DII school that is a good fit for me, where I can play competitively and excel at being a great student.
