Personal Statement
From Basketball, Cheerleading, Ice Skating and Speed Skating to Volleyball, Track and Softball, I have a passion to excel and succeed in every sport I'm involved in. As a Sophomore, I am concentrating on my favorite sport, softball. Batting and throwing left handed is an advantage for me at first base and I also enjoy playing outfield. I aspire to play softball in college. To help me achieve my goals, I take strength and conditioning workouts from The Human Performance Lab and Parkside Athletics.
I am playing for Santa Fe Inferno 18U this Fall season and just completed playing with Pekin Power 16U this season where we were 6th in State. The coaching staff at Pekin Power worked with me on my batting. They have shortened my swing resulting in a lot more power in my swing. I really appreciate their advice as it is improving my game.
I have always been one to stand up for what I believe in and have been involved in various clubs that encourage leadership and that build strong character. I've attended various CGTI Leadership Camps and came back to school where a classmate and I started an anti-bullying club called Teens Against Bullying. In addition, I signed a pledge to stay drug and alcohol free and I speak to my peers about it and I honor my pledge. I am also a member of Future Business Leaders of America and the treasurer for both Junior States of America and the Teen Advisory Board at Dunlap Public Library.
My leadership skills on and off the field, commitment to doing my best at home and school and willingness to always listen to those who are trying to help me improve are instrumental in me achieving my goals. I look forward to what the future holds for me!
