Personal Statement

At this stage of my life softball is everything to me.  I really enjoy the game, the challenge and the camaraderie softball offers.  Nothing would make me happier than being able to continue playing the game I love at a higher level.  However, finding the right school academically is very important to me as well.  I have always challenged myself academically to be the very best I can be and it is important for me to find a school that will allow me to continue pursuing academic excellence.

My travel ball coaches have told me I am the ideal player in the fact I am extremely easy to coach, very approachable and a quick learner.  I have been told I am very mature for my age.  My maturity has allowed me to steer clear some of the things teenage girls get caught up in and has allowed me to focus on improving my softball skills.  I believe this is one of the reasons I have been elected team captain by my peers for the last several years.

Team captain is an honor I have not taken lightly.  I feel it is very important to be able to understand the different personalities of all the girls on my team and to be able to bring them together to play as a team.  Leading by example with good work ethic and sportsmanship have helped me in this effort.  I plan on bringing these characteristics with me to my high school and eventually college team.

I do believe my hard work in the classroom and on the field as well as my upstanding character will make me an asset to whatever softball team I have the privilege of playing for.
