Haley Holt '18 Recruiting Profile

My main goal is to play college softball and be able to help my team be successful. I think that playing at the highest level is a true test of ones abilities and to get an opportunity to do that would be great. As a member of any team I am always trying to make my team better from helping out my teammates when they need it or by leading by example and giving every game all that I have. I am a very competitive person and don't like losing but I am also aware that losing is part of the game and provides great learning experiences. My coaches have always told me that there are people out there working just as hard as I am and harder. So for me to be successful I have to work harder and continue to push myself to get better. I do that in all sports that I play as well as my school work. I have been a good student and have always been on the All "A" High Honor Roll since 6th grade. I plan on continuing that through my high school and college career. I have also been in Student Council all through Jr High and plan on carrying on with that as well in High School. In my 8th Grade year, I was voted Student Council President.

My academic plan for college is to major in General Biology or Forensic Biology and minor in English Literature or Creative Writing. I plan on being an author and eventually a college professor in English Literature. While I work to publish books and get further qualifications for being a college professor, I want to have a job dealing with Biology. I am using this year (my junior year) to determine what branch of Biology I'll want to pursue for a job. I understand that these goals are set high, but I am prepared to work hard for my future.
