Personal Statement
****I have verbally accepted an offer from SSC in Illinios. SSC is a junior college, so any 4 year schools who may be interested in following me, please continue to do so. I would like to continue my softball career through junior and senior year of college. Thank you! ******
Softball has helped me become a very driven person. I have a strong desire to work in the criminal justice field in my future. It has been something that has interested me all of my life. Graduating from college is high on my list of priorities and softball has helped to give me the confidence I have to know I will achieve my goal.
My love of the game started young. I was about 8 when I started pitching lessons and I fell in love immediately. I was able to effectively throw movement pitches easily and loved to learn how to make the ball move. I wasn't a fan of a change-up, until my instructor showed me how to throw a knuckle ball, and once I perfected it; it became my pitch. I now can throw a knucle-curve, knuckle-drop, and a knuckle-screw. My second favorite pitch is the curve, inside curve, or back door. I also have a rise, drop, screw and curve-dump that work very well.
I believe I would be a good fit on your college team because of my ability to adapt to situations easily. Along with playing on my own team, I have filled in on several other teams throughout my years of playing ball, and I never had a problem taking the mound and leading a new team, even if it was only for a weekend. When given the opportunity, I will show you.
