I was our starting shortstop my freshman year at Danville Area Community College. The second game of the year I slightly tore my ACL and redshirted. The doctors told me I didn't need surgery and rehabbed all spring and summer. I got cleared to play before fall practice but completely tore it the second week of practice. I had surgery September 8th and rehabbed all winter. I was cleared to play the outfield 2 weeks before our spring season. 5 months after surgery, I missed 7 games to rest my knee the first two weeks of the season but played every game after that. I started every game in the outfield which is my preferred position. Our team qualified for the NJCAA nationals this season.
My knee is nearly 100% and will be by fall. I loved my coaches at Danville but I just don't see the point of going back to Danville if I'm getting my degree. It doesn't make sense to go back if I am healthy. I have 3 years of eligibility left and would like to have 3 years to get my degree at my four year school while playing the game I love. I understand I am late in the process and would like to get some assistance but that is not a requirement the first year. I would like to be a preferred walk on my first year so I have a spot on the roster. I hope to prove myself and get some assistance the next 2 years if not the 1st year.
