Haley Huesken '17 Recruiting Profile

I'm Haley Huesken and I'd like to take this opportunity to introduce myself.  I am an honor student, a daughter, a sister, and a friend.  I am honest, loyal, and hardworking.  I am a fighter, quick-witted, and a free-spirit.  I am a competitor.  I desire the anticipation and excitement of a challenge.  I want to be in the batters box when the game is on the line.  I yearn for my opponent to hit the ball to me when there's 2 outs with a runner at 3.  I love to win but not as much as I love my team after a loss.  Softball has given me so much more than trophies and stats.  I've learned how to be courageous, confident, and humble.  I've learned how to handle disappointment and the importance of never quitting.  I know the difference between failing because sometimes your best just isn't good enough and the only time failure happens is when you haven't given it your all.  I've learned the grace of losing and the reassurance a teammate needs after an error.  All of these lessons and more were taught in between the foul lines.  I have a loving and caring support system in my family.  I want to make them proud so they know that everything they've sacrificed for me was for a purpose.  That everything they did trying to help make my dreams a reality doesn't go unnoticed.  That by playing the game I love, it will give me the opportunity to open the doors for my future and the adventure that comes with it.
