Personal Statement

My name is Kaitlynn Schmick. I am currently a Senior at Andrean High School in Merrillville Indiana.

During the past 3 seasons, I played on my High School Varsity Softball team and anticipate playing the same this upcoming spring high school season. This past season I received the 59er Most Improved Player Award. Whether on or off the field I am team leader with a positive attitude towards all my teammates and coaches.

I am primarily right-handed pitcher, left-handed batter and 1^st baseman. I currently have six pitches to choose from with my curve ball being my “go to” pitch. The difference in the speed between my fastball and change-up is a real advantage to me on the mound. At the plate I am solid, if I’m not putting down a sacrifice bunt I am hitting a single or double to drive in runs. I am competitor who is mentally prepared each time I take the field; a hard worker, team leader and team player.

I play travel softball as well with the Illinois Fire 18U, playing mostly PGF & ASA Showcases/Tournaments.
