Personal Statement
I have been playing softball since I was 5. While playing on my school team at the championship game when I was 10 a travel coach noticed me and asked if I would be interested in playing on his team. I said yes and the rest has been history. I have played for Indiana's top A travel ball teams. I am currently playing for one of Illinois top A travel teams, ESP Elite Gold . During the 2015/2016 season I played for ESP Elite 99 and we placed 1st at a PGF Qualifier last fall 2015 and just placed 2nd at an ASA/PGF Qualifer June 5, 2016 in Illinois against 16 other top A teams. We lost 2 to 1 but what a great game it was. We all battled the entire game. It was so much fun!
Throughout my years playing on these teams I have received multiple MVP awards for pitching and/or hitting. I have been very lucky to be noticed by other coaches from these other top A teams which have led me to their teams and other greater possibilities. I learn more about the game all the time. New situations always seem to arise to learn from. I love to challenge myself in the game. I try to break my own records. I do all I can do to lead my team and do good for them. I encourage my teammates and try to make my coaches job easier.
My most recent top pitching speed was 56. My asset to pitching is that I have many different off speed pitches. I am very proficient with my pitches, drop ball, curve ball, rise ball, screw ball, fast ball and change up. Whatever pitch my coach calls I can place it there most all the time.
I am a hard worker. Not only do I work on mastering softball but I play varsity volleyball for my high school and most recently have taken up cross country running and hope to run varsity for the school as well. I am in our county 4H program showing sheep. I volunteer at the local childcare and preschool facility. I have worked on improving my grades all year and was very happy to see that I got A's and B's on my final report to bring my GPA up. I am a Christian and attend church when not at a softball game.
My desire and goal is to play the sport I love and have worked so hard at while furthering my education. I would be so honored to play at the college level. I know there are a lot of great players out there to choose from but I know I could make my college coach and my college pleased with my performance and always my best effort on and off the field. You won't be disappointed!
Thank you for taking the time to view my profile. Hope to see you out there on that college field one day.
