The highlight of my softball career as of now was my 8th grade year starting out on varsity and making it to the state tournament for the first time in over 20 years. I realized that I wanted to play softball around 7th grade when I had to choose between what sport I wanted to play in the spring, and that was either softball or soccer. I chose softball, and over the years I have learned many things not only about just playing the game, but being a good teammate. I learned to have leadership, be a role model for the younger girls that look up to me, and not to take anything for granted. I tore my ACL in basketball in February of 2016 and missed my whole entire sophomore season of softball. It showed many things on what its not like to be the starter, but therefore; be the cheerleader for everybody else and help my teammates when they are down.
Academics play a huge role in my life also when I look at going to college. I am taking college courses at a community college currently. I would like to pursue a career in nursing or something in the medical field. By the spring of 2017 I will have my CNA (certified nursing asst.) from one of the courses I am taking at Kirkwood. Not only on the field am I a leader I am in the classroom. I am a good listener and follow instructions, I like to get the work done and move on to the next thing. I have set high expectations for myself and want to pursue them.
I hope we can get in touch sometime cause I would love to play for your team in the future!
