My name is Courtney Westvold and I am currently a junior in high school. In addition to softball I also play basketball and participate in several activities in my school, but my true love is softball. I am unsure of what I want my major in college to be, I am thinking I would like something in either the medical field or the business field, but I am sure that I want to play softball in college. I am a very organized person and manage my time well. I also love to challenge myself on the field in the classroom and in all aspects of my life. I am currently number 3 out of 217 students in my class and I am continuing to take harder classes and focus on my grades in order to hopefully move up to number 1 in my class. As for on the field, I am very committed and coachable; if a coach needs me to do something I will adapt to whatever it is and do it to the best of my ability. I am also a team player, I have never been a person who has really been too concerned about my own personal stats, because in the grand scheme of things the only thing that matters is if my efforts in every game has a positive impact on the team. I am more concerned, when hitting, about moving the runner on base or getting on base so someone can move me around, than I am about improving my own stats. I play for the team as a whole, and strive for the team I am playing for to be successful. I think I am a very valuable player and will do anything a coach needs me to do for the team. I think I would be a very good asset to any team that is interested in me playing for them.
