Morgan Mavers '19 Recruiting Profile

I currently finished my junior year at Independence High School in Independence, KS. I am 5 ’6 and weigh 125 lbs. My positions are pitcher and second base. I started varsity every game this season as either the starting pitcher or second base. My team won our league and also won regionals to go to state for the 3rd time in a row since 2001.  We took 2nd at state this year. I was selected as Pitcher and Player of the Year in 4A-I Division, 1st Team All State, All State Elite Team, and 1st team All SEK. 

I have been playing softball since I was three years old. I started in t-ball and have continued playing since. I currently play every weekend in the summer with my travel team, Indy Dawgs 18B.

In 2013, my all-star team finished first in our state and regional tournaments and were invited to the World Series in Alachua, Florida. My team finished seventh out of twenty two teams. My high school team has finished 3rd two years in a row and this past year were runners up.

I am very coachable and work hard every time I put on my cleats. Striving to be the best is my goal. My goal is to play at the collegiate level. I push myself every day to be better than I was yesterday.

Off the field, I study hard and maintain a high GPA. I maintained a 3.9 in both years of high school.

It is my dream to play softball in college, and I am prepared to do everything it takes to make my dream a reality.
