Personal Statement
My name is Taylor Jeanlewis. I am 5'3" and 127 pounds. I played for Louisiana Pride Powered by Mizuno 2012-2013. I will be playing for Team Louisiana in the summer of 2014. I attend Catholic High School in New Iberia, Louisiana where I play Softball. I play middle infield and outfield. I am working hard on being a stronger student athlete and an all around player and teammate. I am very approachable, coachable and always eager to learn. I am willing to earn my playing time with dedication, perseverance, and athleticism. My dream is to play college softball, and play in the Women's College World Series. Playing softball has allowed me to meet amazing people, get exposed to great opportunities, and learn more about life and the game. I would appreciate the opportunity to play at the college level. As a leader both on and off the field, I believe my ability to motivate others will be a great asset during college and throughout life. As a student-athlete, my dedication on the field permeates from the classroom. I believe that college coaches will appreciate my intelligence the classroom just as much as my physical ability to play the game.
The following clip was in our local newspaper: Jeanlewis had a single with the bases loaded in the bottom of the seventh inning that drove in the winning run for the Lady Panthers. Her game-winning hit was set up when Berwick intentionally walked Grace Landry with runners in scoring position and first base open. That move proved to be costly for Berwick, as Taylor was up to the challenge. For the game she was 2-for-4 with an RBI. She reached base safely in three of her four at-bats, as she was also credited with a fielder's choice. Taylor's big game helped the Lady Panthers improve their overall record to 20-10 on the season. My senior softball season ended on one the highest levels for me, I was chosen 1st team all district. 1st team all conference, and 2nd team all state in the 2a division. I am still interested in the love of playing softball, please let me know if you have any available positions on the team.
