May 2016Personal Statement
I am a 5'2” second basemen, shortstop, and pitcher from Lyman, Maine and will be graduating in the class of 2017. I have been a starter on the varsity team since my freshmen year, received the Coaches Award (freshmen year) and made the All-Academic Team as a sophomore. I have been playing ASA travel softball for the past four years and have been to three College Showcase Tournaments (Polar Crush, Ocean State, and New England’s Finest). I have a 4.0 GPA, 1180 SAT score, and my class rank is 3 out of 256.
I am a hard worker and strive to be the first person at practice, and the last to leave. I constantly support my teammates on and off the field by encouraging them even when things are tough, and always try to put them before myself.
Ideally, I would like to attend school in the New England region so I can be close to my family. I am looking for any size school, preferably Division II or III. My academics are very important to me as well, so I would like a nice balance between the classroom and field, and if given the chance, an opportunity to play as a freshman and make an immediate impact on a team.
