Personal Statement
Growing up in a big city like Worcester, Massachusetts has had a significant impact on my life. Going from a very populated and diverse school environment to a comparatively tiny number of students and very few kids who look like me, in the small town of Boylston, has made me realize how much a new environment can significantly affect one's life.
The transition from one school to another was incredibly hard, particularly with covid, but it was nothing I couldn't manage and control. I've always challenged myself to do my best and not give up without a fight, and this has carried over into my softball journey. Having such a strong passion for this sport at such a young age has taught me a lot through my dedication, determination, and work ethic to better myself for my team. As Tahantos' starting third baseman, a member of a premier travel ball team, and captain of the JV basketball team, I knew my hard work was beginning to pay off.
Sports are meaningful to me, but more so is my education. With immigrant parents who only completed 6th grade and High School, my further studies are important not only to me but also to my family. Becoming a first-generation college student and wanting to excel in athletics and academics is not only for me but also to create a life that my parents never got the chance to have.
I never imagined in a million years how far softball would take me in my life; it has become an essential component of who I am today.
Thank you for your time.
