Personal Statement
Nothing intimidates me. I decided to play baseball with boys at age six and raced snowmobiles for ISOC against boys twice my size at age nine. While I was the only female competing against the best youth baseball players in New England in 2015, I won the “Golden Arm” competition. I am the only female playing varsity baseball as a freshman in Massachusetts. All of these experiences have shaped me into the person that I am and have prepared me to compete at the highest level in college softball.
People always ask me if it has been challenging playing with boys, and I respond that I never let it be. I have very supportive parents who have never set limits for me. They are hard working people and have expected nothing less from me than to work hard, respect my teachers and coaches, and support my teammates and peers. I have been fortunate to play with teammates who respect my ability, challenge me to grow, and appreciate my dedication. Beyond being involved in a variety of sports every season of the year, I am a percussionist in the Hopkins Academy marching band and I work on a farm in the summertime.
