Personal Statement
My name is Alexis Donovan and I am in the graduating class of 2016 at Elizabeth Seton High School in Bladensburg, MD. From age 8 until now, I have either played baseball or softball, and I have developed over the years physically and mentally. I am very determined with anything I do from setting up a fundraiser for Student Council, tutoring one of my peers at National Honor Society study buddies, or playing the game of softball. One of my favorite quotes is, "Don't practice until you get it right. Practice until you can't get it wrong." This describes the kind of player I am and always will be. I believe it takes a student- athlete's full commitment to be able to play in college. Another quote I love is, "Compete against perfection." This quote motivates me to perform above and beyond the best of my ability on the field and in the classroom. I will always be willing to do anything a coach asks me without hesitation, which is what makes me a very coachable player. I will always be ready to sacrifice myself for the sake of my team and my coach. It has always been a dream of mine to become a college softball player, which I am determined to achieve.
