Personal Statement
My goal is to attend a school where I can get a great education and play competitive volleyball. My attention for many years was previously focused on playing competitive softball in college, but upon entering my senior year I decided that volleyball is truly my passion and what I want to pursue. I am the most confident and content when I am on the court surrounded by teammates and enjoying the quick pace and excitement of the game.
During my freshman year at Cape Elizabeth High School, I was placed on the Junior Varsity team, but occasionally swung up to play varsity.
Between freshman and sophomore year I played competitive volleyball on the Maine Juniors 16 Gold team. My sophomore year I became a varsity starter as an outside hitter. My team was two points shy of making it to the state championship that year. Junior year I switched positions to middle, and my team won the state championship, beating the 3, 2, and 1 seeded teams to do so. I was recognized as Cape Elizabeth's Fall Female Athlete of the year, Portland Press Herald's Maine State Volleyball Player of the Year, I was named to the All State team, and I was second team all conference. In addition, I was selected as a delegate to the 2014 Western Maine Conference Student Athlete Leadership Summit.
I am an honor roll student with a 3.7 GPA with a challenging curriculum of AP and Honors classes. I am also active in several volunteer organizations, including being vice president of the National Honor Society.
