I am hyper-competitive both on the field and in the classroom. I set very high standards and I commit to achieving them. My short-term goal is to pursue a high-quality education at a top school while making a positive contribution to a successful team-oriented softball program.
I take my academics very seriously. I enjoy learning and I see it as a way to not only gain an invaluable education and life skills, but to also prepare myself for a career path. I have maintained a 98.80/100 GPA in the Honors and Advanced Placement program while playing three varsity-level sports. I am seeking a school where I can make a positive and lasting impact in a challenging but supportive environment.
Athletically, I am a three-sport varsity player (softball, basketball, soccer) and have played baseball from t-ball through Babe Ruth at an all-star level. Playing with and against boys made me strive to be the best player I could be in order to prove to the coaches and players I could compete and contribute. I like to be counted on by my teammates, especially in big moments. I work hard every practice and game to set a high standard for the team and to improve my game. My playing style has been described as intense and aggressive. My quickness, agility, and hands are my best tools, but I am able to hit for power as well. While I earned the starting catcher's job as a freshmen for my high school varsity team two seasons ago, I am versatile and a quick learner and have played middle infield and catcher mostly during my baseball years and on my club teams.
As a catcher, I enjoy being the team's quarterback and know the importance of being a vocal leader on the field and in the dugout for my teammates, particularly my pitcher. But I think leadership is best demonstrated by someone's actions. I try to carry myself professionally because as one of my coaches once said, "Somebody is always watching."
All the effort I have put into my studies and sports have led up to this important moment in my life. A college coach will be getting a fierce competitor who has the skill and work ethic to perform at a high level at key positions, as well as a dedicated and conscientious student. I will do everything I can to show I deserve a roster spot on any coach's team. I look forward to competing against some of the best players in the country.
