Personal Statement
My name is Megan Peetz and I am a 16 year old pitcher. I pitch about 55-56 m.p.h. and hope to increase my speed as time goes on. My secondary position is 1st base and I can ply outfield on occasion. I have been playing softball for about 8 years now and I really want to continue playing out of high school. I go to school at Brighton High School in Brighton, Michigan. This last spring season, I played on the JV team but got moved up to the varsity team to play.
At Brighton High School, I am a student athletic trainer. I help our trainer ginger with the sports teams out with injuries (taping), stretching, and getting them water to make sure that they are hydrated and doing well. I like doing this a lot because I really want to go into the medical field and Athletic Training (sports medicine) is one of the majors I was looking into. Doing this is just volunteer, but I do it 5 days a week. I am also a bkom for our school. Bkoms are Brighton Kick-Off Mentors and we help freshmen get settled into the high school. If they have any questions or problems, we help them.
If I were to describe myself, I would say I am a very determined, driven person. It takes a lot for me to back down from something. I like to push through things when they get difficult and I really enjoy challenges. When I am around my team, I like to keep the dugout loud and positive. When we are losing or down on something, I am usually the one to pick us up and keep it positive.
