Personal Statement
Update-2022
I am currently attending Jackson College (2yr school) and will graduate in 2023. I am studying Business Sports Management and have a 3.6 GPA. I hope to continue playing softball at my next school. While at Jackson, I am an RA in my dorm, work part-time in the Human Resources office and am President of the Sisters of Strength Diversity club.
My name is Elyse Brittain, Class of 2021. I am looking for a school that can provide both an academic and sporting challenge. For me, softball isn’t just a sport, it is a lifestyle. Currently, I am playing on my travel team Turnin2 . I have many different roles on the team which involve me being both a leader and a teacher to others and a continued learner of the game.
I put a lot of time, work and commitment into softball and push myself to be the best, both on and off the field. I do extra batting practice, fielding and pitching lessons on a weekly basis year round.
In school, I maintain a 3.57 GPA. While in high school, I plan to continue my high GPA and continue to balance school and sports as well as my extracurricular activities of National Honor Society and Peer Leadership with Holt Ram Crew. I am a coachable softball player that shows up "game ready" and focused on competing.
One of my favorite quotes is by Eric Thomas, a motivational speaker, “Hard work beats talent when talent doesn’t work hard.”
