Lily Malamis '23 Recruiting Profile

My name is Lily Malamis, and I am a senior at Livonia Stevenson High School. I was excited to make the varsity team as a freshman. I have been playing softball since I was 8 years old. My dad has always been a big part of my softball career, as he coached me for many years helping me get to where I am today. I spend a lot of my time with my family, especially my 13-year-old brother. We spend a lot of time together. I especially enjoy coaching him with his baseball skills, as well as playing games and hanging out with our friends. In addition to softball, I really enjoy painting. In my freshman year of high school, I joined the National Art Honors Society where I hope to play a leadership role in the next couple of years.

In my first few years playing travel softball, our team did not have a lot of success. This pushed me to want to work harder. Over the past few years, I have played for the Motor City Madness travel team. Two years ago, our team attended the Space Coast World Series in Florida. One of the highlights was when I pitched a complete game and hit a triple to tie the game in the last inning. This year I am excited to have my high school coach, Kevin Hannigan, as my travel coach. He is working with me to grow as a leader, as well as a player.

When I was in middle school, I remember watching the College World Series for the very first time. I knew then that I wanted to play beyond high school. I am excited to explore different colleges to find the right school and softball program for me.
