Personal Statement
I began playing competitive softball when I was 9, and I could never imagine quitting this sport that I have loved ever since. Being a catcher, I would first describe myself as a leader. I am very vocal behind the plate, and love being able to control the whole field from such a great position. I am also a very smart catcher. I take note of players when they step up to bat; including their height, batting stance, and muscular size. This helps me know the batter more and predict their tendencies. Lastly, I have a lot of heart and passion for the game and the people I've met from playing it. I always give 100% and want myself and my team to always be improving in some way. I am a good teammate and am always supportive of my peers. Not only do I work hard as a catcher, but also as a student. I always give all of my effort to my studies, which are very important to me. On my free time I like to participate in Cross Fit, along with playing basketball in the fall and winter seasons. These activities keep me strong and agile, which are important attributes to the catcher.
