Personal Statement
I have always aspired to be a college softball player. It has been my dream since I was 10 years old. I want to find a school where I can get a good education and play softball at the same time, but I have always prioritized school over softball. I have also always wanted to become a special education teacher. I have a cousin with severe special needs and my mother is also a special education teacher, so being around people and students with special needs is something I have grown up with. This year, my junior year, I am also the vice president of Best Buddies at my high school. Best Buddies is a program where we pair up regular education students with students in the special ed classes for a year-long, one-on-one friendship. Academically, I have always pushed myself to take classes that I know would challenge me. I take honors and AP classes, which is definitely hard but very rewarding because I know learning how to study and manage my time effectively will ultimately benefit me in my future career and in life.
