Makenzie Brown '24 Recruiting Profile

My name is Makenzie Brown, and I am a junior at Parkway West High school in Ballwin, MO.  I plan to major in secondary education and math, and would love to play softball at the collegiate level.  I am a RHP and have been the starting varsity pitcher all three years of my high school career.  I'm a very hardworking, competitive, and coachable girl who is willing to try my best in everything I do.  I understand that the only way to get better at something is to work hard, so I work extremely hard to reach my full potential.  

Throughout my softball career, I've learned a lot about character, discipline, and perseverance.  I have learned to overcome adversity, be a leader, support and lift those around me, and give 100% in everything I do.  For example, my junior year of high school, our backup pitcher was a freshman.  I worked hard to support her and help her develop stronger skills.  I have very good sportsmanship and character, and credit all of that to being involved in softball ever since I was five years old.

As far as academics, I am in mostly all honors and AP classes.  I take my education seriously and put lots of effort into keeping up my good grades.  Just like in softball, I work extremely hard and do everything I can to succeed.
