Personal Statement
Hi,
My name is Julia Boyet. I enjoy playing all sports but all through grade school I mainly played soccer, basketball and softball. I began playing travel softball at 10. In addition to playing varsity softball in high school I also play on the Junior Varsity basketball team.
This year in my first year playing as a starting freshman on my high school varsity softball team I had the chance to experience both an exciting win and a difficult loss. The exciting win was helping my team to its first district championship in 12 years. My difficult loss came in a marathon 16 inning 4 hour state regional game. In that game I experienced what it takes to put everything you have in to a game and still lose. Even though that was difficult loss that experience has inspired me to prepare and train that much harder for next year.
My parents have raised me to have high standards for myself which has made me very competitive. I set very high goals for my school academics and my play on the field. My goal is to find a college and softball program that can challenge me to grow and develop in to the best version of myself to prepare me for life after college.
I truly appreciate your time in reading my personal statement and I know that I can be a valuable asset to your college softball program, both on and off the field.
