Chloe Callahan '15 Recruiting Profile

I am a 5'7" left fielder/center fielder/pitcher/utility player from Maple Lake, MN. I will graduate in the class of 2015. I've played softball and volleyball for a great majority of my life. I'm known for being a great communicator and have always been considered a leader in the classroom, on the field, on the court, and in everyday life situations.

Last season as a junior, I led my high school softball team by acquiring a batting average of .548 in conference play and .486 throughout the whole season. I broke the record for home runs in a game with three and had seven total in the season. This led me to be selected for First Team All-Conference and First Team All-State. I received the "Silver Slugger" Award from my coaches and teammates. Throughout the 2014 high school season I played left field, pitcher, and on some occasions, shortstop. (I've always been a versatile player since I am a quick learner and very coachable.) We ended our season with 20 wins and five losses. Over the summer I played for Maple Lake's 18u traveling softball team in center field mostly since we had just graduated our center fielder. For fall ball I played with the Rochester Royals, outfield and shortstop. We took second place at state, losing to MN Combat. Next summer I will be playing for the MN Stars based out of Eagan.

As an 8th grader I was moved up to Maple Lake's junior varsity volleyball team playing outside hitter/passer. By 9th grade I was playing JV and dressing varsity. My junior year I became a varsity starter playing all the way around. This past season as a senior I played outside hitter, defensive specialist/libero, and outside (all the way around). Our Maple Lake Irish volleyball team has made it to state these past four years. This year we earned fourth place, losing the third place game to Belle Plaine in five games, the fifth game's score being 13-15. We finished up the season with the conference title, sub-section title, section title, and the record of 19-3-1. We made Maple Lake Irish volleyball history by going the farthest in the state tournament.
