Personal Statement
Ever since my older brothers have played college baseball, I have had the dream of playing college softball. My main goal is to become an Elementary Education Teacher in or around my hometown. I have always had a desire to work with children and make a difference in our younger generations lives.
When it comes to leadership, I have had many opportunities to fulfill the responsibilities that a leadership role comes along with. Coming from a small town with a developing softball program, I made the decision to start playing on traveling teams which gave me more experience playing with girls from all over Minnesota and North Dakota. Being on these teams helped me learn new skills that I could bring back to my hometown team. Having been on multiple teams has taught me to learn quickly and has also kept me humble.
I believe my sense of humor, adaptability, and determination are key assets of my personality that will help me pursue my goals of playing softball at a collegiate level and earning my bachelor’s degree in elementary education. In terms of athletics, I have had plenty of experience balancing academics and sports throughout my high school career from being a multisport athlete. I have always been a person who goes with the flow which I believe will aid me in balancing my course load and the demands of being a college athlete. I have always had a passion for learning various subjects in the classroom which have helped me in everyday life as well. Overall, I feel my past experiences and my social support will help me succeed in reaching my goals of being a student athlete.
