Growing up, I had a sister who played softball. I always wanted to go throw in the yard or hit off a tee with her. My dad was her coach, so I was allowed to practice with the 14 year old team, at just 8 years old. The experience taught me to push myself to "hang" and be more competitive. I feel that all of my failures, such as unsuccessful tryouts and bad games have sculpted me into the athlete that I am. They taught me to work harder and to always stay positive.
I am the person who always picks up their teammates. I lighten the mood and keep the team pumped up. I communicate well on the field and I'm hard to shake when in the circle. I command the ball well and have good movement, placement, and spin. My high school goal is to maintain my 4.0 GPA, and to graduate with honors, along with special distinction. Playing softball has also taught me leadership along with commitment and teamwork. I have also had to become more competitive and hardworking.
