Gracen Staunton '16 Recruiting Profile

I’m really easy to figure out.  You see, if you know Gracen Staunton in the classroom, then you won’t be surprised how I respond on the softball field.  In my three years of high school, I have taken twelve Honors level courses and one AP level course.  I know that in order to get the most out of any experience (whether in the classroom or on the field) you must constantly challenge yourself.  On the field, I have taken on that challenge from a very early age. Since the age of 11, I have played both outside of my age bracket and against the best competition from those upper age groups during my travel ball career.
My desire isn’t just to take my ATHLETIC career to the next level, it is to take my LIFE to the next level.  I understand that in order to make it to the next level it will take constant pushing to become better. One of the quotes I have learned over the years is that “being good is the biggest obstacle to being great.”  I welcome the challenge of always being pushed to be great; the idea that being good isn't good enough.  I would love to find a University that shares my desire to become great and will help me get there.
