Softball, if I were to describe in one word I would use thrilling. I would use this word because to me softball is so many different things that combine to give me a thrill while I'm playing. I love getting an amazing hit and running because it excites me and fills me with adrenaline. I have been playing softball since I was at least 5, sure it was a t-ball team with all boys, but it was still a way for me to begin to learn and enjoy the game. Continuing to play little league ball, I began to grow attached to softball, but it wasn't until I started select softball that I developed a burning passion for the sport. I have literally felt almost every emotion out there while playing on a softball field: including happiness when my team has a good play, anger and disappointment when I make a mistake, pain by getting hit by the ball, but most of all pride at the accomplishments we would make.
I try to push myself when it comes to sports and academics, I make goals and achieve them even if it's just in my head. I keep my grades up and every semester I push for the highest I can get, a 4.0, it can be hard, but I know that if I dedicate myself enough I can always achieve it. I'm a hard worker yet I know that I'm not perfect, I get frustrated sometimes when I can't do something correctly yet. I believe though that if you work hard at something that you can achieve it. I'm a very caring person, meaning that I can be shy, but I love people and care deeply about them. Some of the most important people in my life are my teammates. No matter what, they are the ones who are always with me battling as hard as they can with me to win or improve. Softball teammates are like family and are easy to get attached to. Everybody is different and everyone brings special attributes to the team that they contribute. I always bring leadership and positivity to the team, even when I am frustrated I try to stay positive because I know that my mood directly effects the team.
Although I'm not quite sure what I will major in college, I know that I am interested in Health Sciences. I am taking a class to help me decide what I want to do and to give me some experience. College will be a big step for me, as it is for everyone, but I can't wait to start competing at the college level and to start deciding what I want to do with my life.
